Tommaso Stanzani, Massimo Messina, Marcello Garreffa e Luca Basili sono gli Horizons, insieme da tanti anni ormai, dopo tanta gavetta in giro per festival e locali, decidono di provarci seriamente cominciando una collaborazione con Michele Turchi come direttore artistico e “DoctorStudios” di Bologna. Propongono la loro musica in maniera molto diretta e senza rinunciare a nulla. Le batterie imponenti e precise di Max tengono saldamente in piedi un progetto che senza dubbio non manca di chitarre hard-rock, ma che grazie alla bellissima voce di Tommy comprende anche ballate dolcissime. Nel gennaio 2007 esce il singolo “DIMMI”, brano molto radiofonico, presentato già in altra veste precedentemente. Questo singolo, nel quale troviamo anche “Sesso Soldi e Spirito Santo”, è un anteprima del lavoro in studio incominciato ad ottobre 2006, nel quale il brano “DIMMI” è stato riarrangiato e presenta delle sonorità più pop che introducono quello che sarà il lavoro vero e proprio. L’uscita del primo album degli Horizons è prevista per fine ottobre 2007, avrà come titolo “CERCHI”. L’album è stato integralmente prodotto in collaborazione con “doctorStudios” dalla nascita all’ultima nota, è un richiamo al pop italiano anni ’70 con influenze rock moderne, linee melodiche dolci miste a sonorità spesso aggressive che si intrecciano per lasciare spazio a voci armoniose e cori soffisticati. Riferimenti alle armonie e cori alla Beatles, con molte influenze e richiami alla TOTO.

Hesitant Ballad

Hesitant Ballad is a pop/rock music project of the Italian songwriter Stefano Esposito.

After some time spent outside the music scenes, in September 2006 he decides to come back with even more vigour to propose his songwriting in a music “box” that could be congenial to his songwriting style.

The name “Hesitant Ballad” is an oxymoron: ballads are never hesitant, so Stefano chooses this name to define, with some irony, a pop songwriting rock-oriented or viceversa, in a sort of kaleidoscopic game.

The songs style range between the rock of Australia and Brush Eyes, till the pop of Happy and Lack of Love passing through longing unplugged ballads like Walk Away and the nostalgic and dreaming atmospheres of Seasons.

During the first phase of the project the songs arrangements were intentionally essential and bare just to make the songs more pliant so that they could find their own way.

Actually Stefano is working on new songs which, together with those you can hear here, will be part of Hesitant Ballad’s debut album.
